Mr. Messina comes to Task from Hill Air Force Base, Utah where he recently held the position of Program Manager and Equipment Specialist supporting lifecycle logistics for Cartridge and Propellant Actuated Devices (CAD/PAD – pyrotechnics) used in Aircrew Escape Systems, fire suppression, Life Support Equipment (Aircrew Flight Equipment), stores release, and missile systems.  This position supported over 30 aircraft types for the US Air Force, US Navy, NASA and 52 foreign countries.  John also was Lead Mishap Investigator supporting over 95 USAF and Foreign Military mishaps globally. Mr. Messina brings an incredible depth of knowledge of CAD/PAD systems to the Task Team, expanding on the current team of highly qualified Egress System experts.

John Messina is well known in the escape system community and has briefed at all DoD levels. He instructs in the use and application of the system and system components, for maintenance, operation and risk evaluation. Further, John has developed course curriculum for investigation of CAD/PAD function and evaluation of mishap components and systems, accredited and recognized throughout the US Air Force. He has taught pilot and aircrew Emergency Egress Procedures, Life Support Equipment Operation, Aircrew Emergency Extraction (fire/crash personnel) and hazards in handling explosive devices.  As an author and content provider for USAF Technical Orders he brings a significant expanded capability to Task Aerospace.

John is also a Charter Member of the Aircraft Escape Systems Executive Working Group and Aircrew Flight Equipment Executive Working Group advising on enhancements and changes to aircrew safety systems. He is qualified to evaluate, investigate, and recommend components within aircrew escape systems as well as instruct in the various disciplines within the career field.

As Program Manager (PM) for CAD/PAD time change items he has been intimately involved in surveillance and life extension programs on all USAF platforms. Within today’s environment of Life Extensions on CAD/PAD items, John will add to the advisory position of Task Aerospace as it provides guidance and recommendation to its customers, globally, regarding the life of a CAD/PAD item.
